Watch and clock auctions
Wristwatches and pocket watches, mechanical and quartz, plus the clocks that come with the house clearances: carriage, mantel, wall and the occasional longcase.
There are no watches & timepieces lots in Sale 387. A new sale opens every Friday. Join the list and we will tell you when the next catalogue is live, or browse past sales.
What comes up
Swiss and Japanese vintage wristwatches, gold and gold-filled cases, military issue, chronographs, and ladies' cocktail watches. English and Swiss pocket watches, fusee movements, and carriage and mantel clocks.
What we check
Whether the watch runs is stated, and so is whether it has been serviced recently, which for most of what comes through it has not. Case, dial and movement numbers are quoted where they are legible. Replacement dials and parts are called out.
Selling watches
Boxes and papers add real money, so bring them. We value watches free, including ones that have stopped. A dead movement is usually a service, not a write-off.
