- The Territorial Efficiency Medal was instituted in 1921 superseding the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal when the Territorial Force became the Territorial Army. It was awarded for 12 years service with active service given as double time. Although the Territorial Force was known as a Volunteer Reserve Army it wasn't unusual for servicemen to enter active duty in an Army Regiment as can be seen here with the impressed R.WAR.R on each Medal for Royal(R) Warwickshire (WAR) Regiment(R).
