- A beautifully preserved mahogany and brass maritime telescope from one of the leading scientific instrument makers of his time. Jesse Ramsden won the Royal Society's prestigious Copley Medal for scientific advancement in 1795. His optical and navigational instruments were relied upon by the great naval explorers such as Captain James Cook and the Compte de La Perouse. This is a particularly fine example which comes with the original storage sleeve.
