Pick# 88s & 88s Var (2). This is a unique combination of the 'Specimen' of the adopted note accompanied by two 'Colour Trials' that were not adopted. The accompanying 'totalité des banknotes impremées sous ma surveillance' document is not for sale and has been included in the pictures as a reference only.

- For the duration of WWI, the Turkish Economy was bankrolled by its military ally Germany and its emergency issue banknotes printed by the Germany firm Giesecke & Devrient. Before their release 'specimens' of the notes were forwarded to Huseyin Cahid the Vice-President of the Ottoman Parliament for his approval. Although 21,875,000 of the 20 Piatre were printed it is likely that the two unadopted colour trial notes and a specimen note of the adopted colour are a unique surviving combination. Condition:
