  • A typed pocket history of Arthur Streeton on the label on the back reads 'Born at Mt Duneed, near Geelong. Apprenticed lithographer to Troedel & Cooper. Painted in his spare time at Mentone and Hill. Sold two works and became a full-time artist. Streeton camped with Conder and Roberts at Heidelberg, and participated in the first Impressionist Exhibition in 1889. Became a strong influence in the Australian School of Painting, and received Honourable Mention at the Salon in 1892, the Gold Medal in 1909 and also Honourable Mention at the Carnegie Institute. Sir Arthur Streeton was Official War Artist during First World War. Won the Wynne Prize and was knighted in 1937 for his services to Art and his Country.'
