In the form of a silver fob engraved by local jeweller T.T. Jones possibly on a smoothed English Halfcrown. The inscription reads " Season Ticket/F B Toulmin Esq/Admit Two/W.S. Lyster/Opera Season/1868/Sydney"

Provenance:
- The Dublin-born entrepreneur William Saurin Lyster arrived in Australia in 1861 with his opera troupe. Although his company was based in Melbourne, over the next six years he toured the other colonies including New Zealand presenting popular operas such as Il Trovatore and La Traviata to audience acclaim. The troupe left Australia for a tour of America in late 1868 but before departing held a short Sydney season. This 'Season Pass' was owned by F.B. Toulmin, the Secretary to the Governor of New South Wales, Somerset Lowry-Corry and is thought to be the only surviving example. Dimensions:
