Notes:
- Followers of Australian politics would remember the furore that erupted when Prime Minister Paul Keating gently guided Queen Elizabeth with his arm during an Australian visit. Others may remember the call by monarchists for him to be prosecuted for defacing our currency after he hand-signed an Australian Dollar Note bearing the portrait of the Queen for a charity event. Technically it is still a crime to write on or to otherwise deface Australian currency and so it was unusual, if not rare, for the two note signatories Bernie Fraser and Bob Johnston to hand-sign a 1988 Bi-Centennial Polymer $10 note. This was the Worlds first plastic banknote and so perhaps they thought it a significant enough occasion to be rebels and break the rules.
