Notes:
- Sometimes when you are looking through a standard collection, a coin of exceptional quality will catch your eye that demands a second look. One such coin is the 1943 (M) Shilling we have just had graded by PCGS at MS66 and which currently tops the population report for this year. The 1943 Melbourne Shilling has always been a scarce date in the Shilling series, but this coin with its proof-like surfaces is truly exceptional. Sharply struck with reflective surfaces it has the characteristics of a coin produced on the experimental chromed dies that were sometimes used on George VI and Elizabeth II coins. It will certainly take a super coin to overtake it in the population report.
